Aligning Your Values For Entrepreneurial Success Business

Being a successful entrepreneur is a very personal thing. It is a commitment to yourself and those you serve that you will be all you can be while bringing great benefit to your target audience. Starting a conscious business is a wonderful opportunity to re-aquaint yourself with who you are and what you stand for. One of the first places I like to explore is a persons values. Values resonate at our core being. They are a cornerstone in the decisions we make, the confidence we exhibit and the honor in which we hold everyone and everything. How we show up in all aspects of our lives in some way is connected to our values.

If I were to ask you, “What are your values?” what would you say? Would readily name five or six off the top of your head, or would you get this vague kind of feeling inside? Maybe like many of us you know you have values but it has been awhile since you really thought about them so they may be a little out of focus.

Why are values so important?

When we become very clear on what we stand for and what we believe in then any decision in question, business or otherwise, can be put to the simple test of “Is this in alignment with my values?” A quick and simple yes or no will tell you if you are on target or need to dig deeper.

Values are instrumental in creating a mission statement for your business. This critical step is often overlooked but I strongly encourage you to make the effort. History has proven time and again that those who clearly define their mission have greater success in all aspects of life.

So let’s get started. As a conscious business owner begin by making a list of your top five values. Pick one and write a brief description on why this is important to you and how it comes to play in your business.
