A Filly Named Miracle Teaches Us About Grief and Loss

It’s that magical time here in the heart of the Bluegrass when our horse farms come alive with the wonder and excitement of the birth of thoroughbred foals. Driving down the road everywhere you look you will see fields dotted with mares proudly presenting their new offspring to the world. Each baby represents the dream of a KY Derby winner to some proud owner.

This glorious event is not always carefree and according to plan. Sometimes the dream is nipped in the bud. Yes, sometimes Mother Nature plays seemingly unfair. Such has been the case with a filly named Miracle. Read the rest of this entry »
