Values For The Conscious Entrepreneur

Some one asked the question, “What is the main value for building your business?” Great question – here is the answer: no one knows this but you! You see, your values are an integral part of your core beliefs so it is not desirable to base your values on the business you want to develop but rather develop the type of business you want based on your foundational positive values. I say positive values because we all have two kinds of values positive which allow us to take action and negative values, which prevent us from moving forward.

One of the first steps I use in my coaching practice is a values assessment. This is simply a chart with a list of values and a system that allows you to rate how important that value is to you. This is a great tool to reconnect back with what really stands out for you. Next I would ask you to write a sentence of two on what that particular value means to you, why it is important and how you use it in your daily life.

Now you are on the way to developing a deeper relationship with yourself which brings me to one of my top values –learning to be your best friend. In building a business it is essential to have a good relationship with yourself first.

Stay tuned for more on values and the other key components that determine what type of business is right for you.

    Congrats!

Conscious entrepreneurs operate from s only one place – deeply on the inside.

They balance the 3 “Ps” – people (stakeholders – team, investors, vendors and customers), profit, and the planet (regardless of your focus which could be evolutionary, economic or environmental).

And that starts with the entrepreneur’s values!
